I really like your Mal, Wash, and River choices! Anton Yelchin could fit River's blend of adorable and powerful, and I think Kristen Bell could pull off Wash's seeming insouciance and humor very well.

Thank you for commenting! River was actually the first one I cast, I really agree that he would be able to pull off both sides of River. I felt really proud when I came up with Kristen Bell! I was a bit lost when it came to Wash but it finally clicked when I thought of her. :)

Bravo! I love gender-swaps, especially for firefly since I think it would be an interesting dynamic if Mal was a woman and Zoe, a man, and he would be calling her sir or ma'am all the time XD

Thank you! I've always loved genderswaps too, since I'm pretty consistently drawn to female characters, and I love to imagine how it would've been if the dynamics have been reversed. :)
